Career highlights:
- Bill Russell is the player with more championships won in NBA history. He won 11 titles in 13 years, two of them as a player/coach.
- Bill Russell and his Celtics dominated an era and were the nightmare of the Lakers, defeating them in 7 NBA Finals.
- Despite his 11 championships, he never won a Finals MVP, but the reason is simple: this award was first established in 1968-69, the season of Russell's last title. The Celtics defeated the Lakers in the finals but it was the only time that the award was given to a player on the losing team (Jerry West).
